Monitoring and improving the performance of public bodies
If there's one department at Bercy that's particularly little known, even to leading political and economic specialists, it's the Contrôle Général Economique et Financier (CGefi).
And yet, through its control activities with over 400 companies and public bodies covering high-stakes sectors in which the State has budgetary or patrimonial interests, its auditing of private companies that receive aid and its auditing of public-sector companies, the CGefi is a key player in the French economy.CGefi has developed unique expertise within the economic and financial ministries.
Among the entities audited are Office National des Forêts, Etablissements publics d'aménagement, IGN, Aéroports de Paris, Grand Port Maritime de Marseille, Agence France Développement, BPI-France, AREVA, EDF, CNES, Chantiers de l'Atlantique, GIAT-Industries, Française des Jeux, PMU, La Poste and Banque Postale, RATP, SNCF, France Télévisions, CNAF, CNAM and CNAV, Pôle Emploi and Assistance Publique.
Hélène Crocquevieille, who took over as head of CGefi at the beginning of 2017, will be joining us on Friday February 28 to present the current challenges facing her department, the range of her responsibilities and to share her views on the future of CGefi.and share her convictions on how to improve public services.
