DATA Breakfast with Sahar BAGHERY
The role of content platforms in the media industry in France and abroad, using Amazon as an example.
More than a revolution in consumption patterns, the emergence of platforms in the media industry represents a disruptive situation at every level: for consumers, companies, states and the globalized economy. It is this rupture, this leap into the unknown, that Sahar Baghery will present to us through the example of Amazon Prime Video.
Believing that the future belongs to diversification, the American giant is investing massively in content and distribution, but also in sports rights, PayTV and VOD, focusing its development on localization and consumers' regional appetites.
How has the world leader in e-commerce embarked on an ambitious policy of content diversification and "glocalization"? What international strategies have been implemented, targeted by continent? How were cultural practices and consumption patterns shaped by regional specificities? And what impact has the health crisis had on online purchasing behavior, whether in retail or entertainment services, including video? These are just some of the issues that will be addressed by our guest speaker.
Sahar Baghery, a former student at ENSAE, the London School of Economics, the University of Southern California and Harvard Business School, after a spell at Disney, Canal plus and Mediametrie, has been Amazon's Director of International Development for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India since 2018.
