Economy Finance Breakfast with Philippe ZAOUATI
A plea for green finance
The unexpected score of the green EELV list in the European elections on May 26, which came 3rd behind the RN/LREM duelists, proves that the French are increasingly attached to and attentive to ecology and sustainable development. Is this just a fashion phenomenon, relayed by the media and associations? Are political grandstanding events such as COP 21 and COP 22 not, for their part, just the official expression of wishful thinking, not followed by action, theatricalized by the world's great leaders? Faced with a genuine concern on the part of citizens for the protection of nature and the environment, and in the face of the often observed lack of will on the part of top government officials, there is a concrete, microeconomic and private solution to get things moving.conomic and private solution: "responsible investment", based on "sustainable finance", which involves financing projects that are both profitable and "ecologically correct". A pioneer in France of this movement, which is both economic and socially responsible, is Philippe Zaouati , initiator and CEO of Mirova, a subsidiary of Natixis IMY, with some 10 billion euros under management, invested in sustainable development projects.euros under management, invested in infrastructure and sustainable development, will be on hand on Friday June 21 to share his experience and vision of the future in this field. This will also be an opportunity for him to dedicate his recent book "La finance verte commence à Paris" (ed. Rue de la Cité, June 2018) to interested parties.
An alumnus of ENSAE (class of 1989) and a native of Marseilles, Philippe Zaouati has successively held positions of responsibility at BIP Gestion, CDC Asset Management, Sogeposte and Crédit Agricole AM. DGA of Natixis AM from 2007 to 2013, he developed Mirova, an asset management company focused on responsible investment, in 2012. In addition to his important professional responsibilities, Philippe Zaouati is also an active member of a number of economic and environmental associations.an institution launched as part of Paris Europlace to promote the French ecosystem in favor of green finance and sustainable development. He is also the author of numerous books, written contributions and media appearances on his favorite topic
