how to reconcile a professional banking life with academic research activities
It's generally difficult to reconcile professional banking responsibilities with teaching and research activities. Marie Brière, "head of the investor research center" at Amundi (Crédit Agricole's asset management division), has been trying to prove the contrary for over twenty years, working within the institutional framework of asset management, while maintaining a bridge with university teaching and research. For her banking business, she works in particular on asset allocation and long-term risk management issues. For example, she recently worked on "green" investments, the design of retirement savings products, or the impact of robotized advice on the investment choices of individuals. On an academic level, she is frequently called upon by public decision-makers (French National Assembly Finance Committee, Conseil d'Orientation des Retraites, etc.) to guide national policy, while continuing her role as a direct university lecturer. On Friday April 16, Marie Brière will share her experience and convictions with us from a distance.
An alumnus of ENSAE (class of 1998), Marie Brière is, in addition to her professional activities in finance, head of investor research at Amundi, professor at the University of Paris. research, Marie Brière is a professor at Paris-Dauphine University and a research associate at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
