Appointments - William Roos Managing Director, Corporate Strategy

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has appointed William Roos (2001) Managing Director for Corporate Strategy, with effect from September 1, 2025.

As Managing Director and member of the Bank's Executive Committee, Mr. Roos will be responsible for formulating the Bank's overall corporate strategy, including advising the President on strategic options and developing its core strategy documents.

EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso commented: "I am delighted to welcome William to the EBRD. His significant experience in international relations and the financial architecture of multilateral development banks means he is well placed to play a leading role in advancing the Bank's key priorities as we enter our new Strategic and Capital Framework. "

Mr. Roos, a French national, joins the EBRD from the French Treasury, where he currently holds the position of Deputy Secretary for Multilateral Affairs, Development and Trade.

Prior to this position, Mr. Roos had a long career in development and international affairs, including as EBRD Director for France between 2019 and 2021.
