An adjunct professor at SAIS (Johns Hopkins University), Vaïsse specializes in European affairs, including Islam in France, and of U.S. foreign policy, including its intellectual history. Jonathan Laurence is a Professor of Political Science at Boston College. A member of the Washington-based Brookings Institution as well as the New York-based Council on Foreign Relations, he is also an occasional consultant for the State Department. Justin Vaïsse and Jonathan Laurence are co-authors of the book "Integrating Islam : Political and Religious Challenges in Contemporary France". (Washington DC: Brookings Press, 2006)
