Appointments - Lionel MARTELLINI (1995) appointed Research Director at CFA Institute Research Foundation

Ensae Alumni is delighted to congratulate Lionel Martellini (1995) on his appointment as Research Director of the CFA Institute Research Foundation. He succeeds industry icon Larry Siegel.

Lionel Martellini has an outstanding academic record, having obtained a Master's degree in Finance from ESCP Business School, several degrees in mathematics and probability from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie, and a Master's degree in Finance from the University of Paris.s at Université Pierre et Marie Curie, a Master's degree in Economics & Statistics at ENSAE Paris, and a PhD in Finance at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. In 2017, he also obtained a PhD in Relativistic Astrophysics from Université Côte d'Azur.

His career perfectly illustrates the junction between academic rigor and concrete applications. After starting out as Assistant Professor at the EDHEC Business School in Nice, he continued his research at the Haas School of Business in Berkeley, then at the Marshall School of Business at USC in Los Angeles. Since 2003, he has been Professor of Finance at EDHEC Business School, and successively held the positions of Scientific Director and Director of the EDHEC Risk Institute, where he played a key role in the development of applied research in asset management.

His career has also been enriched by Visiting Professor positions at Princeton University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, confirming his international influence and ability to inspire the academic and professional community.
