They talk about it better than we do
Mentoring is based on a pairing:
-
🎓 The mentee: an ENSAE student or recent graduate who wants to clarify his or her orientation choices, projects or first professional steps.
-
💼 The mentor: an alumni who puts his or her experience and vision at the service of new generations, to guide, inspire and help them take a step back.
Each duo progresses at their own pace, in a relationship based on trust and sharing.

They talk about it better than we do
When I signed up for the mentoring program, I was mainly looking for an outside, experienced perspective on my career choices, and advice on the importance of certain choices (or reorientations) in the course of a career.
In the end, I had some very enriching discussions, particularly on the balance between professional and personal life, as well as concrete recommendations for the end of my studies. For example, my mentor encouraged me to seize opportunities for internships or study abroad, which I did, and I don't regret it at all. It was a great experience, both personally and professionally.
Thanks again for this program, it's really a big plus! It allows you to have relaxed, natural discussions with experienced professionals, which is a real advantage, especially for students who don't have a family background in management/engineering.
I was thinking a lot about how I saw my future career and I wanted to build a project that was precise and fulfilling for me. I'm particularly interested in the civil service and the parapublic sector, and I wanted to get some feedback on the jobs available, particularly as an INSEE administrator! I also wanted to be able to talk to someone who had followed a similar path to mine, between mathematics and the social sciences, to understand how others build their career paths and choose their professions!
The program gave me a lot of insight into the workings of the DG Treasury, and helped me think about my future career. I also got invaluable advice on internships from my mentor!
